About Me, Blogs

Thanks Mom & Dad

There is so much that I can thank you for.  Thank you for always thinking of me.  Thank you for always pushing me to strive for greatness, even when I doubted myself.  You have both been my rock, my biggest cheerleaders, and my role models.

My parents are hardworking people who instilled the desire to work hard into their children.  They are two of the most caring, generous, and loving individuals you will ever meet.  My dad retired from the United States Army after serving two tours in Vietnam and spending countless number of nights away from his family.  He sacrificed so that his wife and children could live a purposeful and blessed life.  Thank you dad for your service to our great nation.  Mom I know being a military spouse is not easy.  There were times when you had to handle situations alone (like giving birth to me) but you did it with such grace and dignity.  The love you have for dad, Lionel (my brother) and me is inspiring.  We thank you for always pushing us, reminding us to always put God first in all we do, and for making pound cakes at Thanksgiving and Korean hot chicken for family dinners (insert big grin here).  We appreciate you.  Mom and Dad, I would not be here today if it were not for you.  Even at the age of 32, I want to live my life daily in a manner that will make you proud.

Although this is a thank to my mom and dad, I cannot forget someone else who has helped to raise me and encourage me. Thank you to my wonderful brother.  Lionel is 13 years older than me and has been an amazing sibling. When my father was deployed an unable to be there for my birth, my brother stepped up and supported my mother in a mighty.  I love you.  Thank you for being the best big brother to me and uncle to Ava.  Finally to my brother’s beautiful wife, I love you Liz so very much.

My journey has not been easy, but with the love and support of my family, I continue to push forward, striving for greatness, and becoming a better me everyday.
